Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

Accident at McCook, Nebraska
On June 10, 2015, the Bombardier Inc Cl600 2D24 aircraft (registration N246LR), operated by United Airlines, was involved in an accident at McCook, Nebraska (United States), leaving 5 injured. Source: the NTSB (United States).
What happened
On 10 June 2015, while avoiding an area of known convective activity, the crew anticipated turbulence and switched on the seatbelt sign about two minutes beforehand. The aircraft was level at FL370, some 130 km south-west of McCook, Nebraska, at 258 knots, when it met severe turbulence: for about ten seconds vertical acceleration swung between -0.55 g and a peak of +1.64 g and the airspeed varied between 244 and 268 knots. A flight attendant making an announcement at the forward jumpseat struck her head; in the cabin, several passengers were thrown against the ceiling and the overhead bins, and one who was in the aft lavatory was thrown against the ceiling and the wall. Three passengers were taken to hospital, treated and discharged; one with a dislocated shoulder and a bone fracture. Source: the NTSB (United States).
