A mark showing that an aircraft's identity (registration, serial number and model) has been checked against the official register of its civil aviation authority.
What it is
Many civil aviation authorities publish the official register of aircraft registered in their country. Vuelopedia compares each aircraft record with those registers: if the registration, serial number and model all match, the record receives the verification seal.
The check requires all three at once, because a registration alone is not enough: it may previously have belonged to a different aircraft. When an aircraft is no longer registered in a country that publishes its register, it can be verified through an earlier registration, and the record says so.
The seal expires: because official registers change over time, official data more than 12 months old stops counting as proof, and verification is renewed by checking newer versions of the register.
