Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

Accident at San Antonio, Texas
On August 9, 2014, the Bombardier Cl600 2D24 - 900 aircraft (registration N943LR), operated by United Airlines, was involved in an accident at San Antonio, Texas (United States) due to being struck by a ground vehicle or a piece of ground equipment. Source: the NTSB (United States).
What happened
On 9 August 2014, during pushback from the gate, the tug positioned the aircraft on the taxiway. Before disconnecting, the tug reversed and the aircraft, still connected, rolled forward; as it passed the vehicle, it struck the left side of the fuselage. The towbar pin was found sheared, although it could not be determined whether it failed before or during the operation. In addition, the operator had no immediate means of telling the crew to brake while the tug was still connected. The post-accident urine test was positive for marijuana in the tug driver, indicating prior use; however, it could not be established whether he was under its effects at the time of the occurrence.
