Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

On February 25, 2011, the Embraer Erj 190-100 Igw aircraft (registration N957UW), operated by American Airlines, was involved in an accident at New York, New York (United States), leaving 1 injured. Source: the NTSB (United States).
What happened
On 24 February 2011, at about 23:30, US Airways flight 1290 — an Embraer 190, registration N957UW — was landing at night on runway 22 at LaGuardia airport, New York, arriving from Philadelphia. Moderate turbulence was recorded on final approach and a flight attendant saw the aft drinks cart rolling forward. During the deceleration after landing, the cart moved down the aisle and struck the ankle of a passenger seated in 11D, who was seriously injured. A flight attendant and a doctor travelling on board attended to him, and at the gate police and paramedics took him off on a stretcher. US Airways maintenance checked the cart brakes and retention latches and found no anomalies. Source: the NTSB (United States).

What happened
The COVID-19 pandemic brought much of world aviation to a halt in 2020: as demand collapsed, thousands of aircraft sat parked for weeks or months. The extent and the dates varied a great deal from country to country and from airline to airline. This record is based on evidence FOR THIS AIRCRAFT (documented parking and gaps in its flight logbook). Source: American Airlines.
