Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

Accident at Chicago OHare, Illinois
On September 11, 2019, the Bombardier Cl 600 2C10 aircraft (registration N710SK), operated by SkyWest Airlines, was involved in an accident at Chicago OHare, Illinois (United States) due to a problem during towing or pushback. Source: the NTSB (United States).
What happened
On 11 September 2019, at about 11:43 Central time, SkyWest flight 3019 — a CRJ700, registration N710SK, bound for Detroit — struck flight 3039 of the same company — another CRJ700, registration N765SK, bound for Harrisburg — during pushback at Chicago O'Hare (ORD). There were no injuries, but both aircraft suffered significant damage. Flight 3019 was cleared to push back from gate G19A with a tug and two wing walkers. The driver had done his walk-round without noticing the other aircraft behind and began pushing without the «all clear» from both wing walkers; concentrating on the gear, he could not see the wing walker on the captain's side. Both knew there was an aircraft behind, but believed it would move away in time. When they tried to stop him — one with the crossed-arms emergency signal, the other approaching the tug — the driver did not react until he was alongside. Flight 3039, already pushed back and awaiting taxi, felt a jolt that its captain put down to another jet's blast and only learned of the collision on start-up. Flight 3019's left horizontal and vertical stabilisers and flight 3039's tail cone and left elevator were damaged. Source: the NTSB (United States).
