Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

Incident at Ontario, California
On May 23, 2010, the Bombardier Inc Cl-600-2B19 aircraft (registration N925SW), operated by Delta Connection, was involved in an incident at Ontario, California (United States). Source: the NTSB (United States).
What happened
On 23 May 2010, after extending the landing gear to touch down, the pilots saw an unsafe nose gear indication and flew a go-around to try to correct it. They followed the emergency procedures in the operator's quick reference handbook, but could not lower the nose gear. They then made a low pass so the tower and ground staff could assess its condition; with confirmation that the doors were open and the nose gear still retracted, they decided to make an emergency landing without it. Having touched down on the main gear, the captain held the nose up as long as he could; the aircraft slid about 2,000 feet from when the nose settled on the runway until it stopped. During the rescue, the nose gear extended, and the subsequent examination found no anomaly that would have prevented it working normally. Source: the NTSB (United States).
