Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

On July 2, 2017, the Bombardier Inc Cl 600 2C10 aircraft (registration N796SK), operated by Delta Connection, was involved in an accident at Denver, Colorado (United States). Source: the NTSB (United States).
What happened
On 2 July 2017, after a scheduled passenger flight landed, an under-cowl fire broke out in the left engine. It began when leaked fuel accumulated in the engine core compartment — a fire zone — and ignited on contact with a hot surface. During the landing roll some 34 gallons (about 129 litres) were released, more than the nacelle drain could evacuate as ventilation reduced; when it ignited there were about 20 gallons there. With the engine shut down, the fuel was no longer blown out by the fan flow, pooled and fed a fire on the ground and beneath the left pylon until the fire service put it out. The investigation found that a Rosan expander fitting had come out of the bleed valve port through thread wear and fatigue, aggravated by two heavily worn support links whose alignment instructions appeared neither on the drawings nor in scheduled maintenance.
