Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

Accident at Raleigh, North Carolina
On January 3, 2016, the Embraer Erj 170 100 Se aircraft (registration N643RW), operated by Republic Airways, was involved in an accident at Raleigh, North Carolina (United States), leaving 1 injured. Source: the NTSB (United States).
What happened
On 3 January 2016, before the flight, the flight crew warned the cabin crew that turbulence was forecast. On the first part of the trip they met light and at times moderate turbulence, announced each time over the public address system. Later, the aircraft entered unexpected turbulence; the crew immediately switched on the seatbelt sign and made the corresponding announcement. At that moment, a flight attendant was stowing a drinks cart in the aft galley and the jolt made the cart strike her hand. The flight attendant continued her duties and the flight landed without incident. The next day, with the hand painful and swollen, she was diagnosed with a fractured wrist. What happened
The COVID-19 pandemic brought much of world aviation to a halt in 2020: as demand collapsed, thousands of aircraft sat parked for weeks or months. The extent and the dates varied a great deal from country to country and from airline to airline. This record is based on evidence FOR THIS AIRCRAFT (documented parking and gaps in its flight logbook). Source: BTS (United States Department of Transportation).

Memories coming soon

The register of memories is not open on this aircraft yet. We are enabling it gradually, record by record, as we consolidate each aircraft's information.

Before opening it we check the aircraft identity — its registration, its serial number and its model — against the civil register of the authority that registered it, so that every memory belongs to the exact aircraft that lived it. When that work reaches this record, the register will open here.
