Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

On July 15, 2025, the Embraer Erj 170-200 Lr aircraft (registration N185SY), operated by SkyWest Airlines, was involved in an incident at Monterey, California (United States) due to a go-around on approach. Source: the NTSB (United States).
What happened
On 15 July 2025, at about 00:05 Pacific Daylight Time, SkyWest Airlines flight 3005, an Embraer 170-200LR registered N185SY arriving from San Diego International Airport (SAN), flew a pilot-initiated missed approach some 4 miles from the threshold of runway 10R at Monterey Regional Airport (MRY), California, because the runway was closed. A NOTAM closed the airport between 00:00 and 05:00; airport staff removed the lighted closure crosses from both thresholds and temporarily opened 10R for this flight from 00:15 to 00:26. The origin of the problem was operational: dispatch saw that the planned arrival was before the closure, but a delay of about 20 minutes to the departure pushed the arrival past that time. Vectored by NORCAL for a second approach, the aircraft landed without difficulty at about 00:25. There were no injuries among the 2 flight crew, 2 cabin crew and 35 passengers.
