Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

Incident at Medford, Oregon
On December 24, 2017, the Bombardier Inc Cl600 2D24 aircraft (registration N162PQ), operated by Delta Connection, was involved in an incident at Medford, Oregon (United States) due to an altitude deviation in flight. Source: the NTSB (United States).
What happened
On 24 December 2017, on first contact, the controller cleared the crew to cross the initial approach fix CEGAN at 7,800 feet or above and cleared them for the published instrument procedure, which required maintaining 10,000 feet or above from CEGAN to BRKET along the arc. The crew accepted and descended from 12,000 to 7,800 feet. The minimum vectoring altitude (MVA) for that sector was 7,800 feet, but just before BRKET its floor rose to 8,700; those altitudes are visible only to the controller, not to the pilots. He expected the crew not to descend below the published 10,000 feet despite the restriction he had assigned, and the crew neither queried it nor stopped at the published altitude as the rules required. After the event, the FAA launched a training programme on MVAs for controllers, and it was found that a 7,614-foot antenna next to BRKET did not appear on the Jeppesen chart, which was corrected. What happened
The COVID-19 pandemic brought much of world aviation to a halt in 2020: as demand collapsed, thousands of aircraft sat parked for weeks or months. The extent and the dates varied a great deal from country to country and from airline to airline. This record is based on evidence FOR THIS AIRCRAFT (documented parking and gaps in its flight logbook). Source: BTS (United States Department of Transportation).
