Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

Accident at París, Tennessee
On March 14, 2024, the Boeing 737-800 aircraft (registration N8520Q), operated by Southwest Airlines, was involved in an accident at París, Tennessee (United States), leaving 1 injured. Source: the NTSB (United States).
What happened
Southwest Airlines flight 5797, bound for Charleston, South Carolina, met turbulence in cruise that seriously injured a flight attendant. Before departure, the captain had warned the cabin crew to expect a rough flight because of a line of thunderstorms and to sit down several minutes before the forecast turbulence. After a bumpy climb, the aircraft had about 20 minutes of smooth air which the flight attendants used for the passenger service. The flight attendant at position «D» prepared a pot of hot coffee and, as she lifted it by the handle to serve, the aircraft entered turbulence: the pot struck a bracket beside the coffee maker and the scalding coffee spilled over her head, face and shoulders. The captain told dispatch by ACARS and arranged medical assistance on arrival at the gate. Source: the NTSB (United States).
