Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

Accident at Atlanta, Georgia
On May 12, 2011, the Boeing 737-732 aircraft (registration N308DE), operated by Delta Air Lines, was involved in an accident at Atlanta, Georgia (United States) due to a ground collision with another aircraft. Source: the NTSB (United States).
What happened
The captain of a Boeing 737-800 had taxied to the entrance of his assigned stand, where he stopped to wait for the ground staff to clear the area, post the wing walkers and give him the signal to park. The captain of a Boeing 737-700 following him asked, through the ramp controller, for the stopped aircraft to move forward so he could pass. The 737-800 taxied forward and stopped again. The 737-700 captain then tried to pass, and his left winglet struck the right elevator of the 737-800, damaging it substantially. Source: the NTSB (United States).
