Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

What happened
On 1 December 2018, at about 18:04, Spirit Airlines flight 1069 — an Airbus A320-232 (N632NK) arriving from Cleveland, Ohio, with 163 occupants — met turbulence during the initial descent into McCarran airport, Las Vegas, Nevada. There were advisories for moderate turbulence; crossing layers of stratiform cloud, the aircraft was experiencing light to moderate bumps, with no precipitation on the radar. At around FL260 the first officer switched on the seatbelt sign and asked the cabin crew to sit down. Descending through about FL230, 15 to 20 seconds of moderate turbulence shook the aircraft. Two flight attendants preparing the cabin in the aft galley were thrown upwards and fell to the floor; one seriously injured her left ankle and stayed seated at the rear until landing. Once on the ground, she was taken to hospital, where she was diagnosed with a fracture of the left fibula. Source: the NTSB (United States).
