Dieudonné Costes and Joseph Le Brix take off from Le Bourget in the Breguet 19 Nungesser-Coli on a six-month, 57,000-kilometre journey around the world through Africa, the Americas and Asia. Four days later they would make the first non-stop crossing of the South Atlantic, from Senegal to Brazil; the Pacific they crossed by ship.
