Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

What happened
On 3 February 2012, at about 17:17 Pacific time, SkyWest Airlines flight 6261, a Bombardier CL600-2B19 (registration N912SW), was struck by a baggage beltloader while parked at the gate at San Francisco International Airport, ready for pushback and bound for Eugene, Oregon. Once boarding was complete, the crew were told that a beltloader had struck the aircraft. According to the operator, the beltloader driver, positioned by the aft cargo door, believed there was enough room to turn forward and to the right instead of reversing; during the turn, the front left corner of the equipment struck the fuselage and caused significant damage to the skin, the stringers and a frame. There were no injuries among passengers or crew. Source: the NTSB (United States).
