Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

Accident at Summit, Mississippi
On August 9, 2010, the Embraer Erj 170 100 Se aircraft (registration N856RW), operated by Republic Airways, was involved in an accident at Summit, Mississippi (United States), leaving 1 injured. Source: the NTSB (United States).
What happened
On 9 August 2010, a rapid climb and descent by aircraft FAST13 within barely 30 seconds exceeded the radar's ability to track and display its altitude changes accurately. As a result, the controller working flights TCF7530 and FAST13 did not see FAST13 climbing above its assigned level of 280 and received no conflict alert from the system. The reason for FAST13's altitude deviation was not determined. The collision avoidance system (TCAS) on board TCF7530 issued the expected advisory and the first officer correctly initiated a climb in response to the resolution advisory (RA). The seatbelt sign was already on because the flight attendants were preparing the cabin for landing. Shortly before, a passenger had decided to go to the lavatory despite a flight attendant telling him to return to his seat; he was inside the lavatory when the TCAS manoeuvre occurred, which caused him serious injury. What happened
The COVID-19 pandemic brought much of world aviation to a halt in 2020: as demand collapsed, thousands of aircraft sat parked for weeks or months. The extent and the dates varied a great deal from country to country and from airline to airline. This record is based on evidence FOR THIS AIRCRAFT (documented parking and gaps in its flight logbook). Source: BTS (United States Department of Transportation).

Memories coming soon

The register of memories is not open on this aircraft yet. We are enabling it gradually, record by record, as we consolidate each aircraft's information.

Before opening it we check the aircraft identity — its registration, its serial number and its model — against the civil register of the authority that registered it, so that every memory belongs to the exact aircraft that lived it. When that work reaches this record, the register will open here.
