Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

Accident at Chicago, Illinois
On December 28, 2012, the Embraer Emb-145Lr aircraft (registration N619AE), operated by American Airlines, was involved in an accident at Chicago, Illinois (United States), leaving 1 injured. Source: the NTSB (United States).
What happened
On 28 December 2012, shortly after take-off, the flight attendant got up from her jumpseat to begin the drinks service and slipped on the floor area next to the main cabin door, injuring her left arm. She could not continue her duties, but an airline pilot travelling as a passenger helped maintain cabin safety. The flight attendant said there was de-icing fluid on the floor, making the surface slippery; there was also de-icing fluid on the apron areas around the aircraft. Source: the NTSB (United States).

Accident at Chicago, Illinois
On November 11, 2019, the Embraer Emb145 aircraft (registration N619AE), operated by American Airlines, was involved in an accident at Chicago, Illinois (United States) due to a runway excursion. Source: the NTSB (United States).
What happened
On 11 November 2019, on short final to runway 10L, the tower ordered the flight to go around, giving no reason. After the go-around, and having considered a diversion, the crew chose to try again on the same runway. The tower passed a runway condition code of 5/5/5 («good»), although other crews had reported braking «medium to poor» to midfield and «poor» beyond that; the wind was 360° at 17 knots gusting 24, a crosswind component of about 16 knots (the company limit was 30). The aircraft touched down on the centreline, but on applying brakes and reversers it left it: it yawed right at around 80 knots and, on correcting, slid left despite full reverse and braking. At low speed and with reversers deployed the rudder lost effectiveness and did not stop the turn; the aircraft left the runway at about 60 knots onto the grass to the left. Light wet snow had been falling for 3.5 hours, with about 4 cm accumulated. Source: the NTSB (United States).
