Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

On August 5, 2012, the Embraer S.A. Erj 170-200 Lr aircraft (registration N134HQ), operated by Republic Airways, was involved in an accident at Hilton Head, South Carolina (United States), leaving 1 injured. Source: the NTSB (United States).
What happened
On 5 August 2012, during an en-route descent, the crew noticed bad weather ahead and switched on the seatbelt sign; immediately afterwards a flight attendant announced it over the public address system. Despite the warning, an elderly passenger, who had not been able to use the toilet before boarding, got up to use the lavatory. While she was out of her seat, the aircraft flew through 2 to 3 seconds of light to moderate turbulence, according to the captain's account. The passenger, on her feet, fell to the floor and was injured. The crew arranged for medical staff to meet the aircraft at the destination airport; the flight continued and landed without incident, and the passenger was taken to hospital for treatment. What happened
The COVID-19 pandemic brought much of world aviation to a halt in 2020: as demand collapsed, thousands of aircraft sat parked for weeks or months. The extent and the dates varied a great deal from country to country and from airline to airline. This record is based on evidence FOR THIS AIRCRAFT (documented parking and gaps in its flight logbook). Source: BTS (United States Department of Transportation).
