Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

Incident at Atlanta, Georgia
On October 23, 2011, the Bombardier Cl600 2C10 aircraft (registration N751EV), operated by Skywest Airlines, was involved in an incident at Atlanta, Georgia (United States). Source: the NTSB (United States).
What happened
On 23 October 2011, an Atlantic Southeast Airlines (ASA) Bombardier CRJ-700 suffered an under-cowl engine fire after landing at Atlanta (ATL), on a scheduled flight from Des Moines, Iowa. The pilot shut the affected engine down and the fire warning ceased at once, without the extinguishers being discharged; the aircraft taxied to the gate and the passengers disembarked normally, with no damage and no injuries. The examination revealed that the fuel return fitting of the start bleed valve (OBV) had fractured in fatigue, with the nearby wiring loom sooted. The fitting had a dent and deposits of silicon and oxygen — typical of sand, not of the alloy — a sign that the OBV had probably been dropped and struck a hard surface before being reinstalled. When it broke, fuel spilled onto the hot engine case and ignited. Bulletins were issued to replace the OBV and the FAA issued an airworthiness directive. Source: the NTSB (United States).
