Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

Accident at Los Angeles, California
On September 12, 2017, the Boeing 737-924Er aircraft (registration N69813), operated by United Airlines, was involved in an accident at Los Angeles, California (United States) due to a problem during towing or pushback. Source: the NTSB (United States).
What happened
On 12 September 2017, at about 13:10 Pacific time, United Airlines flight 447 — a Boeing 737, registration N69813 — struck Air Canada flight 785 — a Boeing 767, registration C-GHOZ — while taxiing on taxiway C next to gate 69B at Los Angeles airport (LAX). There were no injuries. The 767 was being parked and, as it was a tow-in gate, stopped about 15 feet short of the stop line, with its tail protruding beyond the white markings towards taxiway C. The 737 was taxiing out on that taxiway under ATC instructions. The captain saw the 767 and moved left of the centreline; he asked the first officer, who was heads-down entering data into the FMS, to confirm the clearance, and he estimated about 5 feet. On moving forward, the 737's right winglet struck the 767's horizontal stabiliser: the former suffered minor damage and the latter significant damage. The crew did not feel the impact and learned of it from ATC. Source: the NTSB (United States).

Parked due to COVID-19

What happened
The COVID-19 pandemic brought much of world aviation to a halt in 2020: as demand collapsed, thousands of aircraft sat parked for weeks or months. The extent and the dates varied a great deal from country to country and from airline to airline. This record is based on evidence FOR THIS AIRCRAFT (documented parking and gaps in its flight logbook). Source: BTS (United States Department of Transportation).
