Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

Accident at New Orleans, Louisiana
On June 26, 2016, the Boeing 737 aircraft (registration N69806), operated by United Airlines, was involved in an accident at New Orleans, Louisiana (United States), leaving 1 injured. Source: the NTSB (United States).
What happened
On 26 June 2016, at about 13:00, United Airlines flight 430 — a Boeing 737-900ER, registration N69806, from New Orleans (KMSY) to Chicago O'Hare (KORD) with 172 passengers and 6 crew — was about 20 minutes into the flight when a coffee pot fell from a galley cart and spilled over a passenger. A doctor on board attended to him, the crew declared a medical emergency and diverted to Little Rock (KLIT), where he was taken to hospital with second-degree burns. The flight attendants had not deployed the cart's pull-out trays and had placed the metal pot in the middle; unable to find the spill-proof lids, they covered the spout with a plastic cup. The cart was braked next to row 7 when the screams were heard. It could not be determined whether the pot tipped over on its own or whether the passenger, a child, knocked it over. United's galley manual says to place pots on the pull-out trays and always to use the spill-proof lid when taking them into the aisle. Source: the NTSB (United States).

Parked due to COVID-19

What happened
The COVID-19 pandemic brought much of world aviation to a halt in 2020: as demand collapsed, thousands of aircraft sat parked for weeks or months. The extent and the dates varied a great deal from country to country and from airline to airline. This record is based on evidence FOR THIS AIRCRAFT (documented parking and gaps in its flight logbook). Source: BTS (United States Department of Transportation).
