Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

What happened
On 3 December 2018, at about 10:35, American Airlines flight 114 — a Boeing 737-800, registration N868NN — was taxiing from the gate at Chicago O'Hare International Airport, bound for LaGuardia, New York, when a flight attendant was injured by an object falling from an overhead bin. According to the operator, the flight attendant opened the bin and a laptop computer fell and struck her in the eye, going as far as dislodging her left eye from its socket. The flight returned to the gate and the flight attendant was taken to hospital. The other occupants were unhurt and the aircraft was undamaged. Source: the NTSB (United States).
