Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

Accident at Denver, Colorado
On January 28, 2019, the Airbus A320 aircraft (registration N220FR), operated by Frontier Airlines, was involved in an accident at Denver, Colorado (United States) due to being struck by a ground vehicle or a piece of ground equipment. Source: the NTSB (United States).
What happened
On 28 January 2019, at about 06:17 Mountain time, Frontier Airlines flight 450, an Airbus A320-214 (N220FR), was struck by its own tug during pushback at Denver airport (KDEN), bound for Buffalo. There were no injuries, but the aircraft suffered structural damage. It was pitch dark and the apron was covered in snow. With engines 1 and 2 already running, the driver pushed the tail to the east and then pulled forward to straighten the aircraft; the nose swung left, the tug broke away and struck the forward right fuselage and the right engine intake. According to the investigation, the angle of the towbar after the eastward push, combined with the snow and idle thrust, probably caused the driver to lose control, even though that morning an instruction had been issued to push straight back only.
