Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

Incident at Long Beach, California
On September 18, 2014, the Airbus A320 232 aircraft (registration N656JB), operated by JetBlue Airways, was involved in an incident at Long Beach, California (United States). Source: the NTSB (United States).
What happened
On 18 September 2014, at about 09:30 local time, an Airbus A320-232 (N656JB) operating flight 1416 suffered a failure of the number 2 (right) engine — an IAE V2527-A5 — and an under-cowl fire during the initial climb after taking off from Long Beach, California, bound for Austin, Texas. The crew shut the engine down, discharged both extinguisher bottles and returned to Long Beach, where they made a successful single-engine landing. The examination found a fuel pressure line broken and thermal damage: insulation and wiring consumed or oxidised and soot on several components. On disassembly, a blade retention lug on the high pressure turbine stage 2 disc was found fractured, with two blades released. The analysis revealed fatigue originating at a mark left by the broaching tool during manufacture of the disc; those procedures were subsequently corrected. Source: the NTSB (United States).

Parked due to COVID-19
In April 2020, the A320-232 aircraft (registration N656JB), operated by JetBlue Airways, was parked. Source: BTS.
What happened
The COVID-19 pandemic brought much of world aviation to a halt in 2020: as demand collapsed, thousands of aircraft sat parked for weeks or months. The extent and the dates varied a great deal from country to country and from airline to airline. This record is based on evidence FOR THIS AIRCRAFT (documented parking and gaps in its flight logbook). Source: BTS (United States Department of Transportation).
