Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

On March 24, 2015, the Airbus A320-211 aircraft (registration D-AIPX), operated by Germanwings, was involved in a fatal accident at Prads-Haute-Bléone, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, France (France), leaving 150 dead. Source: Germanwings.
What happened
The first officer, who was hiding a serious depression, waited for the captain to leave the cockpit, locked the armoured door from inside and programmed the A320 flying from Barcelona to Düsseldorf to descend into a mountainside in the Alps. All 150 people on board died. European airlines adopted the two-person cockpit rule, and the debate over pilots' medical confidentiality was reopened.
