Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

What happened
On 10 December 2015, at 13:53, American Airlines flight 1428, an Airbus A319 registered N3014R, met turbulence en route between Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) and Edmonton (YEG), Canada. It was at flight level 320 with light turbulence for almost the whole trip and the seatbelt sign on. ATC reported a smoother ride above FL350, so the crew climbed to FL360; after a brief smooth spell the light turbulence returned and they asked to go back to FL320. The captain told the cabin crew to secure the galleys because of turbulence forecast for the descent into YEG. At that moment, in light turbulence, the No. 2 flight attendant fell while trying to return to her jumpseat and fractured her tibia. Passengers with medical training splinted her leg and helped her into the last row. After consulting American's on-call doctor, the captain decided to continue to YEG. There were no other injuries and no damage to the aircraft. Source: the NTSB (United States).
