Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

What happened
The day before, the same crew had heard a «bang» on extending the gear on approach. The first officer inspected the nose leg and believed the shock strut plate had come loose; the captain sent photographs to maintenance and wrote «bent plate strap» in the logbook, without mentioning the noise. That night the plate was repaired with no further inspection; a more descriptive entry might have led to the mechanical failure being found. On the incident flight a GEAR DISAGREE message appeared on approach and the crew flew a go-around to diagnose it, but finally landed with the nose gear not extended, with minor damage to the forward fuselage. The examination found that the arm which drives the doors and the gear, joined to the lower lock link by two pins with nuts, retained only one; the other was sheared with its thread intact, a sign that a nut had lost torque and worked loose, disabling the mechanism. Memories coming soon

The register of memories is not open on this aircraft yet. We are enabling it gradually, record by record, as we consolidate each aircraft's information.

Before opening it we check the aircraft identity — its registration, its serial number and its model — against the civil register of the authority that registered it, so that every memory belongs to the exact aircraft that lived it. When that work reaches this record, the register will open here.
