Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

Accident at Plevna, Kansas

What happened
On 24 October 2015, with moderate turbulence forecast on parts of the route, the crew had warned the flight attendants. In the first part of the flight they met several areas of turbulence: the seatbelt sign was switched on and the captain ordered the service suspended and everyone seated. The crew requested and obtained a lower flight level, and the turbulence eased. After several minutes of smooth air, the captain allowed the flight attendants to get up, but not to use the carts. About five minutes later, the aircraft entered moderate to severe turbulence again. On calling the cabin, the captain learned that two flight attendants in the aft galley had been injured, although they were able to continue their duties to the destination. Once on the ground, both were taken to hospital; one was diagnosed with a tibial plateau fracture. Source: the NTSB (United States).
