Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

Accident at Peixoto de Azevedo, Mato Grosso
On September 29, 2006, the 737 8EH aircraft (registration PR-GTD), operated by GOL Linhas Aéreas, was involved in a fatal accident at Peixoto de Azevedo, Mato Grosso (Brazil), leaving 154 dead. Source: GOL Linhas Aéreas.
What happened
On 29 September 2006, the Boeing 737-800 registered PR-GTD was operating GOL flight 1907 from Manaus to Brasília. At about 11,000 metres over the Amazon jungle, in Mato Grosso, it collided with an Embraer Legacy 600 business jet flying in the opposite direction at the same altitude because of air traffic control errors and the business jet's transponder. The Legacy's winglet cut the 737's wing, which fell into the jungle; all 154 people on board died. The Legacy, damaged, managed to land. The accident exposed serious failings in Brazilian air traffic control. Source: GOL Linhas Aéreas.
