Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

What happened
On 11 September 2001, after the attacks with hijacked aircraft on the Twin Towers in New York and the Pentagon, the FAA ordered — for the first time in history — the complete closure of United States airspace (the SCATANA plan): all civil aviation was told to land immediately, and by midday the American sky was clear. Around 240 international flights bound for the United States were diverted to Canada — Operation Yellow Ribbon, with more than 30,000 passengers. Airspace reopened gradually from 13 September, by then under new security measures. Source: the FAA (United States).

Accident at New York, New York
On June 19, 2010, the Boeing 737 aircraft (registration N3730B), operated by Delta Air Lines, was involved in an accident at New York, New York (United States) due to being struck by a ground vehicle or a piece of ground equipment. Source: the NTSB (United States).
What happened
On 19 June 2010, with the aircraft parked at the gate and the first officer and four flight attendants already on board preparing the flight, baggage handlers were loading bags when the jet blast from a Boeing 767-400ER taxiing nearby pushed an empty baggage cart from its position. The cart crossed the apron and struck the left side of the aft service panel, opening a hole about 38 by 46 cm in the skin and severing two stringers. According to the baggage handler, after leaving the empty cart between two others he had secured it and checked it with a shove, and it had not moved. Video of the event showed only that cart being blown away by the blast and striking the aircraft, while the other two stayed put. Source: the NTSB (United States).

Accident at Franklin, Tennessee
On February 17, 2019, the Boeing 737 aircraft (registration N3730B), operated by Delta Air Lines, was involved in an accident at Franklin, Tennessee (United States), leaving 2 injured. Source: the NTSB (United States).
What happened
On 17 February 2019, at about 18:04, Delta Air Lines flight 957 — a Boeing 737-800, registration N3730B, with 145 people on board — met turbulence while descending into Atlanta-Hartsfield-Jackson (KATL) from Bozeman, Montana. ATC had forecast light and occasionally moderate turbulence, and the pilots switched on the seatbelt sign and told the cabin crew to stow the carts and sit down. Shortly after leaving FL350 for FL250, at around FL345, the aircraft met two abrupt jolts of light to moderate turbulence. The two aft flight attendants, who were making their last pass through the cabin, were thrown against the ceiling and fell violently to the galley floor: one suffered a fractured vertebra and the other minor injuries. The crew declared an emergency and requested paramedics at the gate. It was attributed to convective turbulence from embedded rain, in IMC and under an active AIRMET Tango.
