Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

Accident at Atlanta, Georgia
On August 31, 2024, the Airbus A330-323 aircraft (registration N808NW), operated by Delta Air Lines, was involved in an accident at Atlanta, Georgia (United States) due to a ground collision with another aircraft while taxiing. Source: the NTSB (United States).
What happened
On 31 August 2024, at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Georgia, Delta Air Lines flight 105 — an Airbus A330-323 — collided while taxiing to runway 27R with Virgin Atlantic flight 104, an Airbus A350-1041. Both were on taxiway L, with the A350 ahead. It asked the tower for more time at the end of the taxiway to recalculate take-off data after a runway change, and the A330, cleared to depart immediately, turned to pass it via taxiway LC. In the manoeuvre, the A330's left winglet struck the A350's right horizontal stabiliser and caused significant damage. Neither crew noticed the collision: one felt a jolt, as if crossing uneven ground, and the other heard an unusual noise. Both aircraft departed normally and the damage was confirmed after landing. There were no injuries. Source: the NTSB (United States).
