Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

What happened
On 30 July 2025, at 17:23 Mountain time, Delta Air Lines flight 56 (Airbus A330-941, Salt Lake City to Amsterdam-Schiphol) met severe turbulence in cruise at 37,000 feet near Creston, Wyoming. The crew had anticipated turbulence over the mountains east of Salt Lake City; after a mostly smooth climb, they had resumed the cabin service and switched off the seatbelt sign, and on noticing cloud build-ups at around flight level 370 requested a deviation. Two of the ten cabin crew were seriously injured and five suffered minor injuries; of the 246 passengers, 24 were assessed and 18 taken to hospital. The three pilots were unhurt and the aircraft suffered minor interior damage. It diverted to Minneapolis-St. Paul, where it landed. Source: the NTSB (United States).
