Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

What happened
On 5 April 2013, with the captain flying and the first officer monitoring, the crew flew the approach to runway 25L. Having disconnected the autopilot, the captain felt the wind seemed somewhat stronger than reported and that the aircraft was «a little unstable». He began the flare at about 20 feet above the ground and pitched up, but felt no response from the nose, so he raised it a little more to check the descent. On the first touchdown, the aircraft bounced and became airborne again by some 5 to 10 feet; on the following touchdown, the tail struck the runway. The subsequent investigation found significant damage to the belly and the aft pressure bulkhead area: the skin was worn through in several areas of the pressurised hull, with a fractured frame and several fittings and frame clips broken.
