Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

What happened
The COVID-19 pandemic brought much of world aviation to a halt in 2020: as demand collapsed, thousands of aircraft sat parked for weeks or months. The extent and the dates varied a great deal from country to country and from airline to airline. This record is based on evidence FOR THIS AIRCRAFT (documented parking and gaps in its flight logbook). Source: BTS (United States Department of Transportation).

Accident at el mar Caribe, el océano Atlántico
On September 25, 2023, the Airbus A320-232 aircraft (registration N569JB), operated by JetBlue Airways, was involved in an accident at el mar Caribe, el océano Atlántico (United States), leaving 9 injured. Source: the NTSB (United States).
What happened
On 25 September 2023, a JetBlue Airbus operating flight 1256 met convective turbulence while in cruise at 34,000 feet over the Caribbean Sea, some 370 km south of Negril, Jamaica. The night was clear with no convective activity in sight, and the crew were tracking nearby thunderstorms with the weather radar and tablet applications. While deviating around an area of bad weather between Jamaica and Cuba, the aircraft entered severe turbulence and extreme precipitation without warning — and with no radar returns. The recorders showed pitch swinging between -1.8° and +6.3°, roll between 8.4° left and 8.8° right and vertical acceleration between -0.69 g and +1.68 g; the aircraft climbed from 33,980 to 34,790 feet. The crew disconnected the autopilot and applied nose-down until they came out of the turbulence and returned to their assigned level of 34,000 feet. Four passengers were seriously injured, and three flight attendants and two passengers suffered minor injuries. The flight continued to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, without further incident.
