Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

What happened
The COVID-19 pandemic brought much of world aviation to a halt in 2020: as demand collapsed, thousands of aircraft sat parked for weeks or months. The extent and the dates varied a great deal from country to country and from airline to airline. This record is based on evidence FOR THIS AIRCRAFT (documented parking and gaps in its flight logbook). Source: Iberia Express.

Incident at Lanzarote-César Manrique (ACE) Airport
On September 28, 2026, the Airbus A320-214 aircraft (registration EC-ILQ), operated by Iberia Express, was involved in an incident at Lanzarote-César Manrique (ACE) Airport (Spain) due to a runway incursion while another aircraft was landing. Source: AESA (Spain).
What happened
Flight IB1502 from Lanzarote to Madrid was due to take off from runway 21, but it entered the runway via taxiway E1 while a Ryanair Boeing 737 MAX arriving from Dublin, flight FR5910, was still rolling out after landing in the opposite direction, on runway 03. The Ryanair aircraft braked in time and left the runway via taxiway E2, and another aircraft on approach could not land because the runway was still occupied. The A320 then took off from runway 21. Nobody was hurt.

Spain’s aviation safety agency, AESA, is investigating, and the airport operator Aena confirmed the incident. Air traffic controllers, who made it public, linked it to staff shortages in the Lanzarote tower. The authorities and the airlines have not officially confirmed the registrations of the aircraft involved: the identification of this aircraft comes from unofficial aviation sources.
