Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

Incident at Kansas City, Missouri
On April 18, 2010, the Bombardier Inc Cl-600-2C10 aircraft (registration N160GJ), operated by GoJet Airlines, was involved in an incident at Kansas City, Missouri (United States) due to a flight control anomaly. Source: the NTSB (United States).
What happened
On 18 April 2010 an aircraft took off in heavy rain and climbed to altitudes with sub-zero outside temperatures. In flight, the crew noticed that turns with the autopilot were being flown abnormally and disconnected it. Forces on the control wheel were excessive and aileron response was limited. Attempts at correction — including a control disconnect to isolate the left and right aileron circuits — failed, and they chose to divert to an alternate airport. During the descent, firm pressure on the wheel restored the left aileron to normal; minutes later, with the temperature back above zero, they landed without incident. The inspection found no binding, but the facts are consistent with water accumulated in the aileron system freezing at altitude and temporarily jamming the control. Source: the NTSB (United States).
