Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

What happened
On 12 June 2016, American Airlines flight 117 (Airbus A321, New York-JFK to Los Angeles) met turbulence in cruise at flight level 170. The captain had asked the cabin crew to stay on their jumpseats because of possible turbulence and minutes later announced it was safe to move about, with the seatbelt sign still on. A flight attendant was thrown sideways and injured; she played the blow down and flew for another four days until, with the ankle no better, she saw a doctor and was diagnosed with a fractured foot. The other 109 occupants were unhurt and the aircraft was undamaged. Source: the NTSB (United States).
