Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

Accident at Riyadh-King Khalid (RUH) International Airport

What happened
The A321 had arrived in Riyadh at around 23:30 on 7 October and was scheduled to operate flight SV1295 to Gurayat the following morning. On 8 October, during one of the Houthi attacks on King Khalid International Airport, the aircraft, parked and with no passengers on board, was hit and burned until it was gutted. The Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) said that, of the two attacks that day, the second targeted a Saudia aircraft; according to sources quoted by Reuters, the damage may have been caused by a direct hit or by debris from an interception.

Saudia confirmed the death of one of its pilots, Captain Hamoud Ali Al-Kalthami, without saying whether he was on board. GACA put the death toll of that day’s attacks on the airport at three. The airline has not officially confirmed the aircraft’s registration; its identification comes from aviation sources.
