Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

What happened
The COVID-19 pandemic brought much of world aviation to a halt in 2020: as demand collapsed, thousands of aircraft sat parked for weeks or months. The extent and the dates varied a great deal from country to country and from airline to airline. This record is based on evidence FOR THIS AIRCRAFT (documented parking and gaps in its flight logbook). Source: Iran Aseman Airlines.

Grounded by the airspace closure
On February 28, 2026, the A320 231 aircraft (registration EP-APJ), operated by Iran Aseman Airlines, was in the news. Source: Iran Aseman Airlines.
What happened
In late February 2026, a sharp escalation of the war between Iran, Israel and the United States — with strikes on facilities inside Iranian territory and Iranian missile retaliation towards the Persian Gulf — led to the simultaneous closure of the airspace of at least eight countries on 28 February (Iran, Israel, Iraq, Jordan, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates). The main Gulf airlines suspended or diverted their flights for several days — about 24% of Middle East operations were cancelled that day — and the restrictions were not fully lifted in the Emirates until 3 May 2026. Memories coming soon

The register of memories is not open on this aircraft yet. We are enabling it gradually, record by record, as we consolidate each aircraft's information.

Before opening it we check the aircraft identity — its registration, its serial number and its model — against the civil register of the authority that registered it, so that every memory belongs to the exact aircraft that lived it. When that work reaches this record, the register will open here.
