Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

What happened
This Airbus A330 had just arrived from Kuala Lumpur and was stationary on the apron with passengers disembarking when an approaching maintenance vehicle struck the airstairs. The impact moved them and separated them from the fuselage: a passenger who was using them fell several metres and died of his injuries. Other passengers on the stairs were hurt. The aircraft was undamaged. It is one of those cases that remind us that much of aviation's risk is not in the air, but in the few metres between the aircraft door and the ground.
