Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

Accident at Miami (MIA) International Airport
On September 6, 2026, the Boeing 767-33AER (BDSF) aircraft (registration N1997A), operated by 21 Air, was involved in a fatal accident at Miami (MIA) International Airport (United States) due to a runway excursion followed by fire, leaving 5 dead on the ground and 5 injured. Source: 21 Air.
What happened
21 Air flight 7598, a Boeing 767-300 freighter flying for Amazon Air from San Juan, Puerto Rico, overran the end of runway 30 at Miami on landing at about 1:53 pm on 6 September 2026, with thunderstorms over the airport and wind gusts of up to 26 knots. The aircraft struck a van carrying seven aircraft-cleaning workers, broke through the perimeter fence and, already on Northwest 67th Avenue, hit an SUV. Five people on the ground were killed and five more were injured, three of them critically; the two pilots survived. The airframe was destroyed by the impacts and the fire that followed.

The NTSB’s preliminary data describe an approach flown too fast: about a minute before touchdown one pilot called for flaps 20 and the other warned they were too fast, a remark repeated several times without a clear reply. Below 1,000 feet the ground-proximity warning system called out an excessive sink rate twice and insufficient height four times, and flaps 30 were called for barely ten seconds before touchdown. The 55-year-old captain had earned his 767 type rating in May 2026. The investigation is ongoing.
