Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

Incident at el norte de Canada
On October 8, 2024, the Airbus A350-941 aircraft (registration TC-LGR), operated by Turkish Airlines, was involved in an incident at el norte de Canada (Canada), leaving 1 dead. Source: Turkish Airlines.
What happened
The captain of this Airbus A350 fell suddenly ill and died while the aircraft was over northern Canada, on flight TK204. The aircraft diverted to New York JFK, where it landed without incident. There was no technical failure and no damage: the aircraft remained in service. It is recorded here because the death occurred on board, not because the aircraft suffered a mishap. That is the distinction that separates a medical emergency from an air accident, even though safety catalogues group them under the same label.
