Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

What happened
The COVID-19 pandemic brought much of world aviation to a halt in 2020: as demand collapsed, thousands of aircraft sat parked for weeks or months. The extent and the dates varied a great deal from country to country and from airline to airline. This record is based on evidence FOR THIS AIRCRAFT (documented parking and gaps in its flight logbook). Source: BTS (United States Department of Transportation).

Accident at Boston, Massachusetts
On February 8, 2024, the Airbus A321-231 aircraft (registration N956JT), operated by JetBlue Airways, was involved in an accident at Boston, Massachusetts (United States) due to a bird strike. Source: the NTSB (United States).
What happened
On 8 February 2024, on the Amelia Earhart de-icing pad at Boston-Logan airport (BOS), the left sharklet of JetBlue flight 777 struck the right horizontal stabiliser and elevator of JetBlue flight 551. There were no injuries among the 210 occupants of flight 551 or the 154 of flight 777. Flight 551 had followed a «follow me» vehicle to its stand and stopped where the driver told it to by radio, but he could barely make out the stop marking — a yellow «T» — because of the darkness and the de-icing fluid on the ground; a later inspection placed the aircraft some 35 feet (11 m) short of the correct point. Shortly afterwards flight 777, guided to the adjacent stand, heard a scrape and felt a vibration as it passed the tail of flight 551, which protruded from its position. Both aircraft suffered damage to the empennage. Source: the NTSB (United States).
