On March 10, 1997, the Airbus A320-212 aircraft (registration A4O-EM), operated by Gulf Air, was involved in an accident at Abu Dabi (United Arab Emirates) due to a landing gear failure. Source: Gulf Air.

What happened

On 10 March 1997, the Airbus A320 registered A4O-EM of Gulf Air rejected its take-off at Abu Dhabi airport after experiencing directional control difficulties on reaching decision speed. The aircraft overran the end of the runway and the nose gear collapsed; the damage was so severe that it was written off. The 107 passengers and 8 crew, 115 people in all, were unhurt.
