Vuelopedia is a work in progress: it currently holds about 30% of the information we expect to have by the third quarter of 2027. Although we use only official, highly reliable sources, some aircraft data and history may still contain errors or inaccuracies. We work hard to clear every anomaly from the records using specialized verification tools.

What happened
The COVID-19 pandemic brought much of world aviation to a halt in 2020: as demand collapsed, thousands of aircraft sat parked for weeks or months. The extent and the dates varied a great deal from country to country and from airline to airline. This record is based on evidence FOR THIS AIRCRAFT (documented parking and gaps in its flight logbook). Source: British Airways.

Incident near Dublin
On October 5, 2026, the Boeing 777-236ER aircraft (registration G-VIIA), operated by British Airways, was involved in an incident near Dublin (Ireland) due to a cabin depressurisation or pressurisation failure. Source: British Airways.
What happened
Flight BA295 from London-Heathrow to Chicago-O’Hare was cruising at 36,000 feet over the Irish Sea when a cabin pressurisation problem developed. The crew made an emergency descent to 9,000 feet and decided to return to Heathrow. As the 777 was unable to dump fuel, it held over the Irish Sea with the landing gear extended to burn it off, and landed safely about four hours and forty-five minutes after departure.
