Flight log

A year-by-year summary of an aircraft's activity on Vuelopedia: main airport, most-flown routes, number of flights and periods on the ground.

What it is

The flight log in an aircraft record reconstructs, year by year, where the aircraft has flown. For each year it shows the airport it used most, the routes it flew most often, how many flights it made and whether it spent long spells on the ground.

It is built from public flight statistics. At present it mainly covers aircraft operating in the United States, because the country's official statistics record the aircraft registration on domestic flights by its main airlines, so many aircraft from other regions do not yet have a log.

The log distinguishes two kinds of data: the official count of the year's flights, taken from those statistics, and observed flights, which are only a sample and are presented as such.
